East Van Shoe Repair

quality craft and service

A fall update…

Wow, is it November already? We’ve been so busy with repair, the site has been neglected a little lately. We’ve got a couple of interesting things on the backburner to tell you about but in the meantime, just a couple of updates:

1. We can now accept debit! Of course cash and credit is still fine as well.

2. With the change in seasons and a recent hick-up with our machinery, we’re experiencing a little longer turn-around time than usual. Some smaller repairs can still be turned around in a couple/few days, but heels, half-soles, full-soles, etc are currently booking between 1 and 2 weeks. This seems to be the norm at shops around town this time of year and consensus seems to be that we’re still worth the wait 😉

As a footnote to the above, we recently had some welding done here in East Van by a wonderful and talented young woman welder named Chico, at the Broadway Welding Shop. Her and Netta were awesome; hooray for local tradeswomen!

A Day in the Life

Our talented friend Sandra Ignagni made a short film of Rebecca at work, as a part of a larger upcoming project of hers. Some great shots of a few of the processes involved in replacing heels and half-soles, sewing in heel-backs and doing a little polish. Check it out!
